Legal battles in Canada and Holland have highlighted the precarious situation children find themselves in when caught between parents in conflict over whether to allow them to get a coronavirus vaccine.
Two cases:
In Saskatoon, a judge ruled that a 13-year-old could be vaccinated after his divorced parents disagreed over the matter. The child’s mother was opposed to the vaccine while the father argued the child had been “bombarded” with false information from wider family, Canadian Broadcasting Corp. News reported. The mother’s lawyers are set to appeal the judgment.
In Europe, a case in Holland has gained attention after a judge ruled that a 12-year-old could be given a vaccine to visit his dying grandmother, despite his father’s objections, Deutsche Welle reported. The child’s parents are divorced.
