The American College of Obstetricians (ACOG) and the Gynecologists’ Immunization, Infectious Disease, and the Public Health Preparedness Expert Work Group have issued an updated Practice Advisory on COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy and breastfeeding guideline. The CDC, ACOG, and Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine assure to either initiate or continue breastfeeding once the mother has been vaccinated, given the benefits of breastfeeding to the infant and what is known about the safety of other vaccines given during lactation.
